A Meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival Held in Pù Bin for the First Time

“Trung Thu Bản Em 2026” was organized with the hope of bringing the children of Pù Bin a joyful, memorable, and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.

As part of the program, the Organizing Committee presented 150 gift packages to children in Pù Bin Village. The gifts included confectionery, lanterns, books and children’s publications, pens, notebooks, and other essential school supplies, bringing the children joy during the Mid-Autumn Festival while offering practical support for their learning.

The Organizing Committee also visited families of children facing particularly difficult circumstances in Pù Bin to offer encouragement and present them with gifts.

During the program, Mr. Hà Văn Di, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Mai Châu Commune Party Committee, and Chairman of the Mai Châu Commune People’s Council, also presented gifts to the children of Pù Bin. This reflected the meaningful care and encouragement extended to local children by the Party Committee and local authorities.

In addition to receiving gifts, the children had the opportunity to make traditional star-shaped lanterns, decorate the festival space, celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival together, and enjoy the traditional feast. These hands-on activities created a warm and joyful atmosphere for the full-moon celebration.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Cường, General Director of Thu Do Xanh Event and Travel Joint Stock Company – Green Capital Travel and Founder of the Nhà Của Bin Community-Based Tourism Project, shared that the program was initiated with the desire to give the children of Pù Bin a special Mid-Autumn Festival experience.

“In many places, the sight of children carrying star-shaped lanterns, sharing a festive feast, and celebrating under the full moon has long been a familiar part of childhood. In Pù Bin, however, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations have not traditionally been a familiar occasion. That is why we wanted the children here to have the opportunity to experience a true Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, make their own star-shaped lanterns, and create a beautiful childhood memory together,” Mr. Cường emphasized.

Mr. Cường also expressed his sincere gratitude to the many organizations and individuals from Vietnam and abroad who contributed to and supported the program.

Accordingly, Thiếu niên Tiền phong và Nhi đồng Newspaper donated 300 copies of its publications, 192 cartons of milk, 20 sets of U9 football uniforms, and five Động Lực match footballs. The Vietnam Publishers Association donated 111 book titles to the Pù Bin Village Library.

A family of visitors from the Netherlands – Mr. Bernd Christian Martijn Wondergem, Ms. Aukje Wilhelmina Reinerman, and Ms. Juul Willeke Wondergem – donated 150 mooncakes.

Benefactors Mr. Tuấn, Mr. Khánh, Mr. Linh, and Mr. Cao, who are currently living and working in Liverpool, United Kingdom, donated a range of school supplies and Mid-Autumn lanterns, including 35 coloring sets, 35 boxes of colored pencils, 80 primary-school grid notebooks, 275 lined notebooks, 115 pencil cases, 55 boxes of ballpoint pens, and 95 lanterns.

Mr. Thắng, a resident of the N03T2 apartment building in Ngoại Giao Đoàn Urban Area, Hanoi, donated 300 ballpoint pens. The N03T2 Pickleball Club – Ngoại Giao Đoàn Urban Area sponsored the traditional fruit display and confectionery for the celebration.

“The support of our sponsors and benefactors has been a valuable source of encouragement, providing the Organizing Committee with additional resources to prepare practical gifts and, together, create a meaningful and memorable Mid-Autumn Festival for children in the highlands,” Mr. Cường shared.

Continuing the Journey of Supporting Community-Based Tourism Development in Pù Bin

For many children in Pù Bin, “Trung Thu Bản Em 2026” offered a particularly meaningful experience. For the first time, they were able to make their own traditional star-shaped lanterns, decorate the festival space with their friends, enjoy a Mid-Autumn feast, celebrate under the full moon, and receive thoughtful gifts as they began the new school year.

He also acknowledged the dedication of Nhà Của Bin and the generosity of the individuals and organizations that had extended their support to Pù Bin.“The care and support from Nhà Của Bin and the benefactors are reflected not only in the gifts presented to the children, but also in the affection and genuine desire to give the children of Pù Bin a new space for play, new experiences, and beautiful memories. We deeply appreciate this support and hope that there will be many more meaningful activities for local children and the wider community in the future,” Mr. Di shared.

Having arrived at the Mid-Autumn Festival early and stayed until the very end, Anh Thư, a child from Pù Bin Village, excitedly shared:

“I’m very happy because today I got to make a star-shaped lantern and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with my friends. I really like my lantern, and I’m going to take it home and keep it as a memory.”

Another child, Ngọc Hân, shared:

“I had never been to such a lively Mid-Autumn Festival before. My favorite part was when everyone enjoyed the feast together and joined the lantern procession. I hope we can have another wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival like this next year, and that Nhà Của Bin will organize many more events for us.”

These simple moments of happiness were precisely what Nhà Của Bin hoped to bring to the children during this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival – an evening filled with new experiences and a beautiful childhood memory to cherish.
